FACET VR

At the intersection of culture & technology.

Facet VR is a collaboration between Nick Ramsay and Ivan Gabriel Ramirez.

What started off as a branding project for Ivan, became a fully fledged team that produced work.

A boutique VR/360 Media company.

In the summer of 2016, we were intrigued by emergent VR/360 technology and ventured off to see how we could contribute to the arts. At the time there were less than a handful of players operating in this space.

Naming:

Stemming from the old adage “there are two sides to every story,” along with the new found possibility to record a 360 degree field of view I named the company Facet in honor of that intrigue and potential. The logo was designed by me and executed by José Manuel, under my Creative Direction.

The culmination of this project came with the short documentary we produced and directed. It followed a retrospective of Richard Hofmann’s work that was on display at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artist’s Collective in Red Hook, Brooklyn. In the film a close friend to Mr. Hofmann, Philly Abe guides us through his work and helps bring us into his world. Richard Hofmann was an artist that lived and worked in the Lower East Side and was someone that was always interested in working with the latest technology. A tremendous amount of thanks to Ellie Winberg that proposed the project to us.

We were able to screen the film in the Lower East Side, Mr. Hofmann’s old stomping grounds, at Sommwhere. We are also grateful that Samsung sponsored the event and provided us with the equipment screen the film to our guests!
